Warrior boys and girls cross country teams were in action Saturday at the Huron Invitational at the Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Warrior boys took first at the meet and won their first title at the event for WHS since 1987.
The boys were paced by senior Bonheur Mvuyekure with a time of 16:22:01 who took second individually at the meet.
Also finishing strong at the event for the Warriors was senior Topher Zahn who took fifth, overall.
Zahn said the meet went really well.
“It was the first time we won it in 30 years,” Zahn said. “It is good momentum going into the later part of the season.”
The Warrior girls took fifth in the event as a team. Freshman Kayla Debeer and sophomore Sydney Lather led the way for the Warriors placing 18th and 19th, respectively.
The JV boys also took first. The JV girls did not field a complete team at the Huron Invitational.
Both the boys and girls teams will travel to The University of Minnesota to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday.
